Special Statement
An Air Quality Advisory remains in effect for Eastern Klamath County and Lake County. This advisory will last through at least Monday. More information can be found at the Oregon Smoke Blog here. Also, a Red Flag Warning will go into effect today from 2pm to 8pm PT for parts of Klamath and Lake Counties.
Fire
The Bootleg fire is at 401,601 acres and is 42% contained. The fire remains most active on the northern and eastern portions with firefighting activity focused in the Winter Rim area and on private timber lands on the northwest portion of the fire. Pyrocumulus clouds could develop later this afternoon which could increase wind speeds locally and disperse smoke further. See additional fire information here.

Smoke persisted in the Sprague River Valley yesterday, causing the Air Quality Index to rise as high as Very Unhealthy. Spotty USG impacts are also possible Saturday morning. Similar conditions are forecast for Sunday.

Air quality continues to be good in Bend and La Pine. Elsewhere in the region, moderate air quality is forecast, as winds will generally be terrain-driven.
